The textile depicting Abraham Encountering the Ram is part of a series of parochet-like works for an imagined synagogue, inspired by Yom Kippur. The density of detail and the use of numerous small, intensive lines evoke the emotional depth and layered texts of the prayers themselves.
The work offers a free interpretation of archetypes rooted in tradition, exploring the possibility of granting them a personal and contemporary visual form. Abraham is deliberately rendered as a non-specific figure — a character through whom any viewer might see themselves — emphasizing the idea that we are all participants within shared archetypes and the cultural narratives to which we belong.
Printed on linen, the image acquires a softness that responds to movement, introducing an additional interpretive layer: somewhere between a curtain, a map, and a ritual object. This ambiguity allows tenderness and openness to enter spaces of tradition that are often perceived as rigid, expanding their emotional and symbolic possibilities.
